Catherine Hart Kennedy

We are saddened to announce the passing of Catherine Hart Kennedy, born May 9, 1936 in Bellville, Ontario. Cathie beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hart.

Cathie grew up in Madoc and later attended and graduated from Kingston Hospital School Of Nursing in 1958. She had a very close relationship with her classmates for many years. Cathie was employed at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto for several years and then went on to continue a successful nursing career in neonatal care at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. In 1972, Cathie married the love of her life, Donald Gregory Kennedy from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They were engaged within seven weeks of meeting each other. During their marriage they enjoyed the company of friends, time in Florida, and going on cruises. In retirement, they loved spending every minute together, relishing the magnificent view of Lake Ontario from the windows of their beautiful Oakville condo.

Cathie was a wonderful lady with lovely dark brown eyes and a great sense of humour. She will be remembered for her empathetic nature, her love of the children in her care and her kindness to everyone she met. Her husband Don Kennedy, died in May, 2024 from complications following heart surgery.

Cathie and Don are now together with God and their loved ones who have gone before. RIP dearest Cathie.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 27, 2026 11:00 am at St. Jude's Anglican Church.
