It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl John Shaughnessy (known to us all as "Chuck") on Tuesday September 12 ^th , 2017, just two weeks shy of his 88 ^th birthday.

Chuck, loving husband of 60 years to Joan, and dear father of Carla, Stephen (Cathy), John (Janet), Barb (Steve), and Tim (Carrie).   Cherished Papa to Meagan (Dean), Erin (Ian), Gillian, Ian, Colin, Andrew, Kayla, Julia, Laura, Jack and Charlie, and great grandfather to Scott.

Chuck was born and raised in his beloved hometown of Peterborough, Ontario and moved to Oakville in 1953 to start his 35 year career with Ford Canada. He will be remembered for his love of hockey and baseball – especially the Peterborough Petes, Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, reading, the Stock Market, travelling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He lived each day with patience, kindness and a positive attitude.

Visitations for Chuck will be held on Sunday September 17 ^th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home (64 Lakeshore Rd. West).

A funeral mass will also be held on Monday September 18 ^th at 10:30am at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church (47 Reynolds St. Oakville, Ontario) followed by a reception in the adjacent building.

If desired, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to charities that Chuck and his family support including the Autism Society of Ontario, Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Canada.
