Obituary

At Ian Anderson House, Oakville, on the evening before his 87th birthday. Brem fought his battle against leukemia with great courage and dignity.
Beloved husband for 57 years of Marny (Scruton), loving and proud father of BUZZ (Vicki), Etobicoke, TOM (Dee Dee), Mississauga, and DAVE (Nancy), Hinsdale, Illinois. Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Andrew and Emily (Buzz), Jason and Jamie (Tom) and Stephanie, Mitch and Julie (Dave). Predeceased by his father, Charles Bremner Green, his mother Marion Baillie Green Wilder, and his sister Betsy Green Hagey Dale.
Dearly missed by his brother Don (Shirley) Brockville and their children Debbie O'Brien, Donald Green and Ellen Wallace. Respected uncle to George Hagey, Channahan Illinois and Barbara Hagey Lapid. Brother-in-law to Harry Scruton (Danielle) Aiken, South Carolina. Brem loved the camaraderie and the fun of many, MANY, rounds on the golf courses at The Toronto Golf Club, and The Longboat Key Club, Sarasota, Florida. He was an avid and skilled bridge player, a passionate yet sometimes empty-handed fisherman. Brem was President and General Manager of Bowes Company, which served the food industry throughout Canada. He was widely recognized and respected for his sound guidance both in the business world and in his private life, advising friends and relatives. Brem willingly gave of his time and expertise, in particular to Appleby College where he served as a Board Member as well as Trustee on the Foundation for many years. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, July 9th at St. Jude's
Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville. The family sincerely thanks Ian Anderson House staff for the outstanding care and comfort provided to him. As well the family thanks CCAC, in particular RN Victoria; Dr, Zarestsky and the staff of Credit Valley Oncology Centre; Dr. Robert Gabriel, hematologist Andrea Lee, Sue and the staff at the transfusion department at OTMH.
