It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Fay Kersten (nee Charlton) on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at Ian Anderson House in Oakville at the age of 75.  Bonnie leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Cees Kersten, her dear daughter Marnie Lynn and daughter-in-law, Marnie's wife, Liz Da Ponte.  Also mourning their Nani are her darling grandchildren, Noah and Emma.  She also leaves her brother Wayne (Patricia).

Bonnie was predeceased by her dear son, Ryan Daryl in 1978.  Also predeceased by her parents, Robert and Audrey Charlton and her brother Lorne.

Nothing and no one was more important to Bonnie than her little family…Noah and Emma brought her endless joy and no one perked her up more than they did.

Bonnie also is survived by in-laws Dianne Kersten (Arend deceased), Jane Lowe (Bob), Dick Kersten (Corinne), Mim Sinke (Herb) and Marg Kersten, as well as her dear cousin Gail Russell.

Bonnie was born near Windsor Ontario but spent most of her life in Oakville and, indeed, most of it in the same house. She spent many years working in food service at Oakville Trafalgar High School.

Her family would like to thank all the caring people at her church, Clearview Christian Reformed Church.  Also the family is very grateful for the tender care she received at Ian Anderson House.  We would also like to thank Bonnie's amazing doctor, Aleida ter Kuile, who went to extraordinary lengths to care for Bonnie, visiting at home and at hospice many times.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 10, 2025 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Clearview Christian Reformed Church, 2300 Sheridan Garden Drive, Oakville.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2024 at the church at 11 am.  A reception will follow. Cremation has taken place.

If desired, memorial donations in memory of Bonnie may be made to Ian Anderson House or the Friendship Group at Clearview Church.
