In Loving Memory of Biatris Adi-Saatloo

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Biatris Adi-Saatloo, who peacefully left us at the age of 97 on April 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her legacy of unwavering love, kindness, and strength will forever live on in all who were touched by her life.

Born on July 1st, 1927, in Baghdad, Iraq, Biatris lived a long and fulfilling life, deeply devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. She was the foundation of her household, offering endless love, support, and guidance to her children - Doris, Hormoz, and Vahram - while her husband, George, worked abroad to provide for the family.

Biatris' love for her family was evident from the very beginning. At the age of 28, after saving enough money, she purchased their first family home in Urmia, Iran, while George continued his work abroad.  She moved her young children from their rural village to the city, ensuring they would have a better life with access to an education. Later, she made the decision to move her sons once again, this time to Ahvaz, so Hormoz could attend university.  The family would eventually be reunited with George, Doris and granddaughter Esabella.

Biatris' vision and strength were instrumental in shaping the future of her family and is the reason we are all here in Canada. In 1980, she made a courageous and life-changing decision, telling Hormoz, "Son, I forgive you. Go anywhere, but don't come back to Iran." Her foresight led Hormoz to accepting a job in Canada where he would then sponsor his parents and the rest of the family to come to Canada in 1986, starting a new chapter in their lives.

A woman of deep faith, Biatris remained devoted to her Catholic beliefs throughout her life. Raised in a devout Catholic family, she regularly attended mass and was an active member of her local Catholic women's group, where she helped support needy families in surrounding Christian villages in Iran.

Even after moving to Canada, she continued her spiritual journey, attending mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Mississauga, and often seen walking with her walker in her 80s. Later St. Mathews Parish in Oakville into her 90s. Despite being affected by dementia in her later years, she remained steadfast in her faith, reciting her rosary three times a day. Her dedication to Christ was a constant source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Hormoz and Vahram, her grandchildren Allen, Natalie, Nicole, and Vanessa, and her great-grandchildren Owen, Arianna, Joshua, and Benjamin. Her love and influence will continue to guide and comfort them. Biatris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, her children Nargis, Garnick, Doris, and granddaughter Esabella.

Biatris was a pillar of love, resilience and grace. We are forever grateful for the many years we shared with her and will cherish her memory always. Her generosity, faith, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
