Friends,
Our mother/grandmother/wife Bev passed away peacefully last night. At her request we are not using the word "sad" and we are trying to put our brave "Bev" hearts into this announcement to CELEBRATE her life the way in which she wanted.
Due to the current world situation we are delaying any formal celebrations of her life until it is more appropriate to get together, and we will be in touch once we have a plan in place.
Bev's motto was "The Importance of Being Weird", and she passed this on to her children and grandchildren. So with that in mind, our announcement of Mom's passing is below, written by her grandchildren.
You've received poems from Bev for so many years,
Stories of Ziegels, filled with Christmas cheers
And although it is March, and we can't meet in person
We would like to honour Nana with our own uplifting version
We know that you've been thinking of her every single day
And she knew that too and was at peace when last night she passed away
It wasn't sad for her, she was ready, it was time
And to her it was important that we let you know through rhyme
You've heard of Matriarchs, of women in power
You all know of Bev Ziegel, the woman who fills every hour
Who always lived life spreading laughter and love
She made you always feel that it was you she was thinking of
She doesn't want sadness, she'd suggest you CELEBRATE!
In fact, she has always said that you're what made her life so great.
So, please give us some time and we will give you a day
For us to get together, and celebrate the Bev Ziegel way.
We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and we will be in touch soon.
