Obituary

(Member of the Ladies Auxillary of Branch 114 Royal Canadian Legion, and retired from Trafalgar Lodge, Oakville)
We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, surrounded by her family, Mom was called to her eternal home on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Brant Centre, Burlington. Loving wife of the late James McKay. Mom will be fondly missed by her nine children; Rachelle Jean (Mike), Herbert, David John, Sharon Sy, Colleen Jepson (Harry), Gordon (Donna), Eileen McKay (Daryl), Kathy McKay, Kelly Petrilli (Late Lenny). Mom's life was enriched by 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and the late Hunter Davis. Betty was the daughter of the late John and Jeannie Hickinson, sister of the late Joyce Bartlett, Bea Hickinson and Ivy Hickinson. She will be fondly missed by many nieces and nephews in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland. Special thanks to the wonderful caring staff of the 4th Floor at Brant Centre, Dr. Annis, Dr. Ragonetti and Acclaim Health. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Kopriva Chapel on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired memorial donations to the Oakville Children's Magical Christmas would be appreciated by the family.
