It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Beryl Mary Irene Lemos. She passed away peacefully on June 2 with her husband and son by her side. She is survived by her husband Alex and two sons, Jeffrey and Jason (wife Karoline).
Beryl was a dedicated mother and wife. She was a devout Catholic. She was a humble woman who loved her family gatherings, long walks and the changing leaves of fall. She was always in her element when she was on the annual family trip to Virginia Beach.  She loved her grandchildren (Elise, Dean) most of all. She spent as much time as she could with them.
Beryl arrived in Montreal in 1966 accompanied by here brother (Colin), sister (Hazel), father (Victor) and mother (Winnifred). All the three siblings married and had two children each.  The family left Uganda because of the troubling political situation of the time.
The family of four uprooted and moved to Oakville in 1989. This was a tough move for the young family but it was for the children's future. Money was tight, but they managed to put the boys in private school followed by post secondary.
Beryl was stricken with dementia, diagnosed ten year prior to her passing. She struggled for many years. Her family stood by her.  Alex took care of her at their family home for many years as the sole care giver.  She was finally admitted to the long term care facility about a year ago.  Her ever devoted husband, Alex visited her twice a day feeding her lunch and dinner almost every day at the faculty.
Our family is thankful to West Oak Village Long Term Care for allowing Beryl to live with dignity in her final days and allowing her to finally pass peacefully.
The family would also like to thank all the outpouring of love and support by all the family, friends and church community. May God bless Beryl and allow her to finally Rest In Peace 🙏
A funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew's Church Thursday June 9, 2022 at 1:00pm with reception to follow.
