IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ben
Zamora
November 16, 1991 – May 19, 2025
Ben, a beloved son, devoted big brother, and loyal friend, passed away on May 19th, 2025, at the age of 33. His presence was a gift, full of light, laughter, and an unforgettable mix of talent, heart, and strength.
As the eldest of 5 siblings, Ben was a steady protector and natural leader, always supporting and showing up for his family. To his parents, he was a source of pride and unconditional love. To his siblings, he was a rock, a role model, and a best friend.
Ben's talents were remarkable. Self-taught, he became an incredible musician, leaving all who heard him in awe. His athleticism matched his drive, he excelled at everything he tried, combining skill with quiet confidence and humility. His friends often joked, "Ben's good at literally everything," and it rang true, not just because of his talent, but because of his determination, curiosity, and grace.
Ben's love for adventure and connection embraced both friends and family. Whether on trips to Miami and California, road tours with the band, or late nights filled with jams and studio sessions, he brought people together with warmth and loyalty. To know Ben was to feel deeply loved and supported.
More than anything, it was his heart that shone brightest, kind, thoughtful, fiercely loyal, and always making others feel seen and valued. His laugh, his music, and his love will echo in our hearts forever.
Ben was one of a kind. He is missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered always.
Ben joined his Grandmother Joan Zamora and Aunt Sue Donen in heaven. He is survived by his large family: his mother and stepfather, Tracy Donen and Jeff Boer; his father, David Zamora; his grandparents Jean and Adrian Donen, and Walter Zamora; his four siblings, Rebecca (Joseph) Di Girolamo, Matthew Zamora, Samuel Zamora (Erica Croft), and Megan Zamora; and his two step-siblings, Jacob Boer (Ocean) and Samantha Boer. He was a proud uncle to Chloe & Oliver Di Girolamo, and Piper & Hosanna Boer. Ben also leaves behind 17 aunts and uncles, 25 cousins, and their spouses and children, each of whom he loved deeply and who loved him in return.
A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 28th at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Parish, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville, ON L6M 1M2 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow with light refreshments, shared memories from friends, a memorial slideshow, and an opportunity to pay respects to Ben's family.
