Obituary
The family of Beatrice 'Betty' Kamalian are broken-hearted to announce her passing on April 2, 2021 at the age of 90.
She was the devoted wife of the late Leon Kamalian, beloved mother of Monette, Lynette, Anthony and Edward; proud grandmother to Suzanna, Natalie, Carolyn, Nicole, Lena and Meghan; and loving great-grandmother to Darius, Owen, Deanna, Arianna, Madeleine and Matilda.
Prior to our mother's marriage to our wonderful father in 1953, her determination and hardworking nature earned her a position of supervisor at the Iranian Oil Company in Abadan, working with the first computers in the 1950's. Owing to a medical condition, she was forced to move to Kuwait in order to receive the necessary treatment where she met our beloved father.
After over 20 years in Kuwait where she led a glamourous life, she and her four children moved to Great Britain, there she enjoyed a wonderful social life and met many more life-long friends. Eleven years later, the family emigrated to Canada where she finally settled and the family grew into what it is now.
Fluent in four languages, our mother was also a highly skilled seamstress and an exceptional cook. She created wonderful dishes that we, her friends and her friend's children all enjoyed immensely, remembering them to this day. She hosted immaculate parties and enjoyed dancing, singing, travelling, sports and politics; she was always the life of the party.
She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which was evident in everything she did for them. We were all very blessed to have our mother in our lives; her voice was endearing and her love was infinite.
Our beloved mother was a strong, charitable and gifted woman who constantly made us feel loved.
We will never forget you mummy.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family visitation was held. Limited attendance at the Funeral Mass is available and Livestream of the Mass is also available for those that are unable to attend in person due to restrictions, capacity or distance.
