It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Post (nee Collier) in her 94 th year at The Post Inn Village on March 15 th , 2022.
Beloved wife of the late Maurice Post (d.1997). Married in 1950, they created a beautiful home in Oakville that was filled with laughter, love and seven children!
Beloved mother of Maurie Post (Janet), Ron Post (Barb), Robin Post (Peter), Janice Weistra, Lynda Funk, Susan Mueller (Rob) and Karen Post.

Treasured Great-Grandmother of Mason, Zachary, Lucas, Faith, Jordyn, Sam, Liam, Elliott, Remy, Cadence, Theo, Matthew, and William.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her siblings the late Ted Collier (Mona), Joan Leslie (the late Bill), Ron Collier (Elaine), Marilyn Cumming (Tom) and Diane Shalton (the late Winston).
Barbara will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Frederick Collier.
Through the years of raising a family, Barbara alongside Maurice were avid gardeners, filling the flower beds with a stunning array of colour throughout the gardening season. It was not uncommon to see cars slow down, or walkers stopping to admire the beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed growing African Violets and was a member of the African Violet Society for many years.
Barbara was a master of many creative talents and there was always a project in progress. Whether she was sewing clothes for her children or dolls clothes for the church bazar, knitting those beloved "Nana mittens and hats", baking those infamous Chocolate Chip Cookies, or cheering for her grandchildren from the sidelines at a sports event, Barbara was always there for her family. She looked forward to the summer vacations at Wasaga Beach being surrounded by her family. Often the family photographer, Barbara would spend time lining everyone up for the perfect "spontaneous" picture. The joy of taking pictures extended beyond the family as Barbara joined the Photography Club and expanded her skills to include a variety of subjects.
Barbara always had time for board games with her grandchildren. Her patience for Sorry, Skip-Bo or Snakes and Ladders was never-ending. For herself, Barbara preferred the challenge of daily crossword puzzles and Jeopardy. It was an unwritten rule that you never called the house at 7:30 as that was dedicated Jeopardy time.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the staff at The Post Inn Village for the nurturing care while mom was a resident. The staff always graced Barbara with a smile, humour and a loving hand especially during the last two years of the pandemic. The staff and residents were Barbara's extended family, and it was comforting to know she was so well cared for. Barbara often expressed how blessed she felt to call Post Inn her home and to be surrounded by their loving care.
