Barbara passed away suddenly after recovering from recurring bouts of COPD and pneumonia.
Survived by her loving husband Dick, daughter Janet (Chris) Morgan, son John (Iconie and family), brother Alan Morson and his sons Stephen and Scott, daughter Beth and families, and last but not least her beloved and spoiled labradoodle Jazz.
Barbara graduated from St. Clement's School and Trinity College, University of Toronto where she met Dick, her husband of 68 years.
An active volunteer in Toronto with the National Ballet, Barbara moved to Oakville and for many years served as a docent with the Art Gallery of Ontario. In Oakville, she co-organized the original Art Show for the University Women's Club, Table Fashions 2001 at Gairloch Gardens, and started the Children's Aid Society volunteer program. She was a director and fundraiser in the early days of the Oakville "Y". Barbara loved cooking and belonged to the first University Women's Club gourmet group for over 60 years.
Barb enjoyed summers at the cottage on Stony Lake, playing tennis and badminton at the Oakville Club, a little golf at TGC, skiing at Holimont and in Utah, bareboat sailing in the Caribbean, and later in life winters at Jekyll and Gasparilla Islands.
A service will be held at St. Jude's Anglican Church at 160 William Street in Oakville Thursday March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with a gathering following at the Oakville Club for refreshments and sharing memories.
