Obituary

Arthur Seib

October 28, 1941 – August 19, 2025

Arthur Seib, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on August 19, 2025 at the age of 83.

He loved his family and his grandchildren were a source of great pride.  He is survived and beloved by his wife, Leona, son Joshua, daughter Rachael, son-in-law David and two grandchildren Zachary and Beatrice.  His siblings Rudolph, Gertrude, Ida, Hannah, Hilda and niece, Marilyn Klein and nephew, Michael Zylik preceded him in death and his sister Adele survives.  He will be deeply missed by his nephews and nieces, Andy Zylik (Linda), Patricia Havercroft (Dan), Johannes Linstead, Gabrielle Tisdale, Esther Shelley (Chuck), Deborah Seib-Klassen (Fred), Judy Johnston (Phil), Karen Ricketts (Brad) and Jason Seib.  He also cherished his many great nieces and nephews.

He attended Blakelock Highschool in Oakville, followed by McMaster University.  He met his soulmate and wife of 55 years in Winnipeg at Calvary Temple.  They moved to Oakville where their two children, Joshua and Rachael were born.

Art was administrator of United Mennonite Home in Vineland for 15 years.  Under his leadership a new care home and life lease townhome units were built

Art enjoyed sports, and was active throughout his entire life.  He did track and field in high school and played soccer in university.  He continued jogging into his later years.  In his final days, he would watch the Blue Jays from the comfort of his favourite armchair.

Art was an avid reader. He knew the classics and liked Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken".  But his true love was the Bible and he could recite countless bible passages by memory.
