Alex Smail died peacefully at Oakville-Trafalgar Hospital on Friday February 15, 2008. He was born on March 17th, 1920 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, youngest son of Arnold and Annie Smail. Beloved husband of 48 years of Diane Teasdale Smail of Oakville, ON. Predeceased by brothers James and Samuel Smail and sister Audrey Buchanan. Fondly remember by his nieces and nephews: Kathleen Smail and Sam Grigg of Tualatin, Oregon, Blake and Allison Smail of Richard's Landing, ON, Ian and Gail Smail of Sandford, North Carolina, Janet Smail of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Elizabeth Buchanan of Iron Bridge, ON, Bruce and Judy Smail of Richard's Landing, ON, and Nancy and Walt Rzeszutko of Cambridge, ON, and their children. Alex Smail was a life long employee of CN Rail, based in Toronto, Capreol, Moncton, Ottawa, Bellevelle and Montreal. At the time of his retirement, he was Assistant Chief, Transportation National. A private family service was held in Oakville, ON. Interment will take place in May in Carlyle Cemetery, Iron Bridge, ON.
