CARSON, Antoinette (Toni)

15 February 1947 – 26 November 2022

Toni passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, on Saturday 26 November 2022. Beloved wife of Cliff Carson. Dearly loved mother of James (Raina) and Robert (Simon); proud Nana Toni of Melanie and Kylie. She is survived by her sister Terry and sister-in-law Chic of England. Predeceased by her parents Martin and Irene (Crane) Trow; her brother Martin and her brother-in-law Victor, all of England.  She was born in England and came to Canada to visit a pen-pal during Expo 67 where she met her future husband, Cliff. They were married in Hamilton, Bermuda. Being a railway family, they moved frequently: Montreal; Winnipeg; Moncton, Beaconsfield and finally Oakville. Toni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University and worked for many years as a social worker. There will be no funeral per Toni's request. She has been cremated. Her ashes will be interred in the Carson Family Plot at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal, Quebec in the spring. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation is encouraged to make it in her name to Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington, Ontario where she was a very active volunteer or to a charity of their choice.
