On Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Anne in her 81st year. She had bravely battled for decades against a number of significant health issues.
Anne was born in Fallin, Scotland on April 2, 1936 and grew up in nearby Grangemouth. She qualified as a nurse and midwife at the Falkirk Infirmary and emigrated to Canada in 1961 where she first worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. There she met and married Steve Meszaros, her husband of 53 years, moving to Oakville in 1965 and where they have lived for over fifty years. Anne was a nurse at OTMH through most of the 1960's and 1970's, and later a staff nurse at Appleby College and Oakville area retirement homes.
Anne is survived by her husband Steve Meszaros (of Oakville), her son Steve Meszaros, daughter-in-law Susan Ferry and grandson Thomas (of London, England), her son David Meszaros (of North Vancouver, BC) and her sisters Sheila Ralph and Irene Watson (both of Scotland).
Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600) Oakville on Sunday, September 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Hopedale Presbyterian Church, 156 Third Line, Oakville on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to any charity of your choice.
The family wished to thank the staff of OTMH for their dedicated care, particularly the hospital´s kidney dialysis unit where Anne had been a patient for the past 18 years.
