Passed away peacefully with her loving children by her side on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in her 78 th year. Cherished mother of John, Gil and Coco. Sister of Marie Christine. Proud grandmother of Tania, Dylan, Gilles and Zhan.
Annie-Marie was born in Luchon France in 1937 to parents Jean-Louis Larre and Gabrielle Larrouy. From an early age, Anne-Marie showed a real passion for the piano and she studied at the Paris Conservatory of Music. The family immigrated to Canada in the early 1950's and they started the restaurant "Au Pierrot Gourmet "in old Montreal, which operated for three decades. Anne-Marie met her future husband Jean Amardeil at the restaurant.
Anne-Marie's musical path led her to piano teaching where she thrived watching her students progress and achieve. The recitals at her home were memorable events. She was an accomplished chef, perfecting many of the recipes passed down from her father. Anne-Marie loved being active on the tennis courts with family and friends.
Anne-Marie travelled extensively in her life, following her husband to assignments in Rouyn Noranda, Montreal, Toronto, Paris, London and Sao Paulo. She always considered Halton home, returning to Burlington and Oakville during her senior years.
Anne-Marie was very loyal and caring to her family, never wavering. A vibrant member of the community, she contributed time and effort to many charities and social events.
A memorial visitation will take place at the Kopriva Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), from 2 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2015. Cremation has taken place. Interment in the North Eastern section at Lowville United Cemetery in Burlington Ontario.
