Anne Marie was a special woman. Her family was foremost in her mind in everything she did.
Whether it was a Christmas dinner or a casual meal on the deck, everything was done with an
ease and style that was all her own. She loved working in her gardens at home and at camp to
make it look the way she wanted. Truly a labour of love.
Camp at Lake Penage was where we spent the summers and it was a joyous place to be. The
food, drinks, and especially the laughter was always present. Anne Marie loved seeing her
grandchildren playing in the lake and more than often would join them. Anne Marie and Ron
cherished the time they spent with Alex and Emma. The joy and love was deeply felt by
everyone.
Anne Marie valued her friendships deeply and many go back decades. Entertaining, travelling,
or just a quick visit for a coffee or a phone call kept those friendships flourishing. She also
volunteered with the Women's Auxiliary at Sick Kids for 30 years. She enjoyed the camaraderie
of her fellow volunteers and felt fulfilled with the work she was doing.
The grace Anne Marie displayed in the face of hardship was a reminder of who she was. It will
not be forgotten by anyone who knew her.
The Funeral Mass will be on June 8 at 12 noon at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 1150 Monk's
Passage, Oakville, Ontario and interment will be at St Mary's Cemetary in Barrie, Ontario.
