If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever.

Altyn was born, and lived most of his life, in Toronto (Mimico) and moved to Oakville in 2019. He is an alumnus of Lakeshore Collegiate Institute and of Sheridan College where he was pursuing a degree in Computer Software and Network Security.

He was a movie buff, with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of film both current and classic. He was an accomplished cook, with an extraordinary palette. Altyn crewed on a racing sailboat in his early teens and helped with maintenance and rigging on that very same boat well into adulthood. He was an accomplished gamer (PS4&5, single player, PVE).

It was in his first home in Mimico that he chanced to meet his lifelong friends Meaghan and Nicole Murray. From first meeting them, at age 4, courtesy of the neighborhood ice cream truck, they became like sisters to Altyn, and he like a brother to them. Even though their paths took them to different schools and different towns, that bond – forged in ice cream - remained.

Altyn shared a similar bond with his cousin Kaleb Powell. Close in age and in kinship, they spent many a carefree day under the watchful eyes of Glenna and Laurice. When family events were planned, his first question would be: "will Kaleb be there?" Lately, Altyn was very much looking forward to planning a trip to visit with Kaleb and Breanna at their new home in Edmonton.

He had solid relationship with his young, half-brother Ferrell (Francis). They would get together periodically for movie nights, and talk or text, regularly. Altyn seemed to step naturally into a mentoring, 'big brother' role and was overjoyed to hear that Ferrell would be finishing high school and continuing his studies at college.

Altyn is survived by his father Carlos Francis, stepfather Shayne Plowman, half-brother Ferrell (Francis), stepbrother Michael (Plowman), stepsister Skye (Plowman), cousins Justin, Alyssa, Karl, Emily and 'brother' Kaleb, and by 'sisters' Meaghan and Nicole (Murray).

Altyn goes to meet his mother Glenna (Richardson), 'auntie' Liz (Plowman).

A memorial service will be held at Kopriva-Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, at 1PM Thursday 15 May 2025.
