Obituary

Passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Warren, she leaves her two children: Jim (Lesley) and Lynn (Terry); five grandchildren: Erin, Mathew, Cameron, Joel-Adam and LizAnn; and one great-grandchild, Liam. Jean and her husband Warren were owner-operators of the Cedar Croft Motor Court after Warren's mother died, from 1950 to 1994. They welcomed tourists and folks moving to Oakville who required temporary lodging. Consequently, they developed many friendships with people from near and far. Jean was a founding member of St. Paul's United Church (1956), where she was the first organist and for many years after, Jean could be relied upon to play the piano for the U.C.W., weddings or variety shows. Jean also performed occasionally with friends in a local Dixieland jazz band. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Our deepest gratitude to all the staff at Post Inn Village, especially the 4th floor (Linden) where Jean resided for the past couple of years. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Society would be appreciated by the family. We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, 454 Rebecca St., Oakville, to remember and celebrate Jean's life.
