It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Allan Dalby on Friday, June 29th at his home in Bronte. Beloved husband and best friend of Carol. Predeceased by his first wife Annie. Much loved Dad of Ken, Rob (Tina), Ray, and Suzanne (Jim). Step Dad to David. Grandpa to Drew, Matthew, Katherine, Alana, Dan, Michael and Nick. Great- Grandpa to adorable Payton. His four-legged friend Shelby will miss his pocket full of treats. Al and his Dad, Andrew, started Dalby Machine Shop on Forsythe Street in 1953 and moved to Speers Road in 1964 where he continued to run a successful business until retirement in 1997. For the past ten years Al and Carol have enjoyed the rewards of his hard work: traveling, visiting friends and waving to the neighbours from their front porch. In lieu of flowers we would ask donations be made to the Hospice Department of Acclaim Health (formerly V.O.N.) or to Camp Oochiegeas where children dealing with cancer are given a chance to forget they have cancer and be kids again.
