It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Shllaku on September 19, 2025, at the age of 63, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 25, 1962, in Shkoder, Albania, to Paulin (late) and Drane Shllaku, Alfred grew up in Lac, where he spent his childhood and early years. It was there, in his father's woodworking shop, that he discovered a love for carpentry, a passion that shaped his life and blossomed into a lifelong career as a skilled finish carpenter. In the last decade, he found great joy in returning to beekeeping, a cherished hobby he first shared with his father in his younger years. What began as a pastime became a true passion, one he delighted in sharing with family and friends. Alfred lovingly referred to his bees as his "pets," devoting countless hours to their care and finding peace and purpose in tending to them.

More than anything, Alfred cherished his family. For 32 beautiful years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Ardiana Shllaku, together building a home grounded in laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. He was a devoted father to Klaudia, Paul, and Alan, and embraced Eric Manning (son-in-law), and Sofia Orsono as his own. Alfred is also survived by his siblings, Alma Cukali, Aleksander Shllaku, and Enrik Shllaku. Alfred will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his sharp sense of humor, and his generous spirit. He is now reunited in peace with his father, Paulin "Baci," his dearest friend and greatest source of inspiration.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2025 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 5-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday September 25, 2025 at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca Street, Oakville at 11 am.  Interment to follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
