Obituary

It is with deep sadness and love that we share the passing of Alan Zulianello, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 13th, 2026 at the age of 72.

Alan was born on November 20th, 1953 in Fort William, Thunder Bay, to his parents Danilo and Margaret. He grew up with strong family roots there, and the values he learned in those early years stayed with him throughout his life.

Alan will be remembered for his gentle strength, kindness, and steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. He lived his life with integrity and dedication, always placing his family at the center of everything he did.

He shared a deep and enduring bond with his beloved wife Paulette for 50 years. Together, they were deeply rooted in their traditional Catholic faith, which guided them with strength, love, and commitment throughout their lives.

He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather whose greatest joy in his later years came from spending time with his grandchildren and family. Those simple moments meant the most to him.

Alan built a long and respected career in retail management, where he was known not only for his leadership and reliability, but for his genuine warmth and ability to connect with others. He had a natural friendliness that made people feel comfortable and welcome, and he was appreciated by everyone for his kindness and easygoing nature.

Outside of work, Alan enjoyed the things that brought him joy and relaxation. He loved golf and hockey, and he took pride in working on DIY projects around the house and for family. Whether fixing, building, or improving something, he did so with patience and care.

Alan is survived by his loving family, including his wife Paulette, children Kristin and David, and their spouses Jonathan and Marilyn, along with his cherished grandchildren Eve, Joshua, Noah, and Zoey, who will continue to carry his memory forward with love and appreciation. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home in Oakville on Thursday, April 23, from 6–9 p.m with prayers at 6 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Transfiguration in Etobicoke at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24th, followed by burial at St. Volodymyr’s Cemetery in Oakville and a reception at St. Volodymyr Event Centre.

Alan Zulianello will be lovingly remembered and forever missed. His warmth and spirit live on in the hearts of those he touched.
