IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aida
Stopelli
November 6, 1932 – January 12, 2026
The family of Aida Stopelli is saddened to announce her passing on Jan 11th 2026, at the age of 93
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Ron; children: Greg (Erin), and Chris, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Aida was a child of the Great Depression and WW2. Living in Italy during these times moulded her with a sense of determination, spirit, practicality, and resolve that would follow her throughout her life. Aida came to Canada in 1957 following her future husband, Ron. They were married in 1961 and subsequently had 3 children, Greg and Chris and a daughter who was lost during pregnancy. Aida's nature of helping gravitated her towards a career in nursing which she studied for in Europe and did expertly and with great care for over 55 years, working in acute and long-term care, and children/adults with special needs, finally retiring in her late 70's. So many people remember the caring "force of nature" that took care of them, held their hand, and showed them that the world can be a better place. Aida enjoyed knitting and seeing friends and family for big Italian dinners where she always created amazing meals and good company that will always be remembered.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM, on Monday, January 19th, at St James Roman Catholic Church, 231 Morden Rd. in Oakville
Memorial Donations may be made in Aida's name to March of Dimes Canada.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staffs at Northridge Long-Term Care Home and CAMA Woodlands for their care and compassion.
