It is with great sadness that we announce that Agnes Letitia Weir passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, at Wyndham Manor in Oakville at the age of 102. She will be sorely missed by her large family including her surviving children grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was a war bride, born in London England, where she met her Canadian husband Russel Weir during the war. They came to Canada in 1946 and unfortunately, Russel passed away in 1980. Mother had six children but is survived by only Peter, David, and Judy.  Patricia, John, and  Geoffrey have previously passed away.

Agnes was a very special mother and lady. She adored her six children and was very generous and supportive to all of us. Later in her work life, she had her dream job as she worked for over a decade as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Librarian at the Central Library (she loved books, read constantly, and conducted book reviews).

She also enjoyed swimming and did so daily at the pool adjacent to the Central Library. Since she was English, she was an enthusiastic walker and after retirement, she would walk every day from her home on Waverly Ave. to Hopedale Mall, but really it was just an excuse to get dressed up and socialize, which she was excellent at! Many people at the Mall recognized her and her nickname was the "Hat Lady". Her other passions were music, playing the piano and singing with group Sweet Adelines, gardening, and dancing.  She had an unlimited enthusiasm and passion for life.

Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (one block East of Kerr Street) on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 10 am with a Celebration of Life to follow in the Chapel at 11 am.  Reception to follow in the funeral home lounge.
